St. John Council - Peel Dufferin Branch
www.sjapeel.ca
The Peel Dufferin Branch of St. John Ambulance has been providing first aid and CPR training and health and safety related services to the community since it was established in 1966. The branch has had a direct impact on the safety and well-being of the citizens of Mississauga, Brampton, Caledon and Dufferin County through the services it provides. Certified Instructors teach life-saving skills tailored for the workplace, home and recreational needs. Volunteers are the backbone of the St. John Ambulance organization. Our community service groups are supported by a dedicated team of over 500 volunteers who contribute in excess of 50,000 hours each year to support our programs. Medical First Responder volunteers provide first aid services at public events. Therapy Dog volunteers with their owners provide comfort and companionship visits, reading buddy services to children and help to de-stress high intensity activities at schools and workplaces. The Outreach & Education Team educates the community on first aid, safety and volunteer opportunities that can assist with attaining career goals. Car Seat Safety volunteers educate parents on how to safely install their child's car seat. Youth are invited to join Youth Connects, an on-line program of activities and resources that teach health, safety and leadership skills.
