First Book Canada
First Book Canada is providing equal access to quality education for kids in need. Almost 25% of Canadian households do not have a single book. With fewer than 10 books in the home a child can fall 12 months behind and may never catch up. Together we can change this. Education is a child's best path out of poverty. First Book Canada members work in classrooms, early childhood, after school and summer programs, shelters, health clinics and community-based organizations throughout the country. Through a market-driven model, First Book Canada is providing essential resources to its member network of more than 9,000 educators and program leaders who exclusively serve kids in need. Since 2009, First Book Canada has distributed more than 7 million books and educational resources to hundreds of thousands of children and youth across Canada. Help us do more!
