Abbey Cat Adoptions
We are a network of foster homes and volunteers dedicated to help prevent pregnant cats, mothers and infants and orphaned kittens from being euthanized in Municipal Shelters across the GTAs.We will also help cats in need wherever possible and as space permits. We are an all volunteer group with no paid staff
We place cats in foster homes, provide good quality food and shelter and work with a number of vets in Brampton, Mississauga Oakville and Toronto.
We carefully screen adopters and spay and neuter all cats over the age of 5 months prior to adopting them out.
We train, educate and support our foster homes and we provide training for volunteers to screen prospective adopters.
We need volunteer coordinators, screeners, people knowledgeable in cat care although we also offer on the job training by our skilled (but small) volunteer force.
We need people skilled in web work and in social media, as well as good people and organizational skills.
We offer a wide variety of behind the scenes opportunities in coordinating new programs, fund raising etc.
