Applewood Centre for Adult Learning
Applewood is a unique daytime destination and registered charity in Mississauga for young men and women with special needs who are excited by their prospects to learn, grow and lead more meaningful lives. As participating families will attest, Applewood provides an essential social service to clients and in turn, to their families.
The Applewood Centre for Adult Learning serves adults with a wide range of developmental disabilities. A structured program of activities is planned around social development, fitness, life skills, art, music and recreation. These activities foster independence, personal growth and social development.
Applewood is located within the Saint Kateri Tekakwitha Learning Centre. The Centre encompasses 5 classrooms, two personal care rooms and daily access to the gymnasium. The building is well-maintained and is easily accessible, providing a safe and familiar setting.
Applewood is extremely grateful for the support and that we receive from the Dufferin Peel Catholic District School Board, United Way, Region of Peel and the federal Canada Summer Jobs program.
