GTA Volunteer Centres Team Up to Expedite Volunteer Screening for Essential Services

With emergency funding support from the United Way Greater Toronto, three Volunteer Centres: Volunteer MBC, Volunteer Toronto, and Volunteer Markham, are joining forces to increase non-profit volunteer engagement capacity during the region’s COVID-19 recovery.

Non-profit organizations looking to engage volunteers in Mississauga, Brampton, Caledon, Toronto, and Markham/York, are encouraged to access expedited volunteer screening services through their local Volunteer Centres.

What services will be available for non-profits?

  • Access to a pool of pre-screened volunteers, including those with Police Checks, reference checks, and/or skills assessments
  • Access to new Volunteer Matching Partner programs for intensive and ongoing volunteer screening support
  • New online educational resources to help non-profits and volunteer managers adapt programs to engage volunteers safely
