Volunteer MBC Board Members provide mission-based leadership and strategic governance on behalf of its members.  The Board will support the efforts of Volunteer MBC to fuel purposeful connections between people to respond to the most pressing social issues in the Peel community with a vision of improving lives through volunteerism. 

For the past 18 years, Volunteer MBC has been Peel Region’s matchmaker for meaningful service—connecting people with purpose, nonprofits with support, and communities with hope. As the region’s volunteer centre, we mobilize volunteers to give their time and heart where it matters most, strengthen volunteerism, and ignite civic engagement to build healthier, more resilient communities.

•    Deepen your expertise in community development, education, and volunteerism across Peel Region.•    Gain meaningful insight into Volunteer MBC’s mission and its impact on local residents.•    Use your voice, leadership, and networks to influence strategic direction and community outcomes.•    Strengthen your leadership, governance, and professional skills, with eligibility for a reference letter.•    Contribute to community capacity-building while expanding your professional network and building lasting relationships.

• 8 hours per month. Approximately 1 board meeting plus board/committee work between meetings. (We hold a minimum of 6 board meetings a year). 
• Must sit or chair one of the Standing Board Committees, Fund Development Committee, Finance Committee, Governance/Nominating Committee & HR Committee or Social Inclusion Committee. 
• Absence from 2 or more board meetings without consent from the Board President may be grounds for dismissal.  
• Attendance at special events is expected. 
• Directors will be elected for a two (2) year term, for a maximum of three (3) terms (or six 6 years).
