Goal

The Lakeview Farmers’ & Artisan Market aims to support local farmers, food producers, and artisans by offering a vibrant, inclusive community space every Sunday. The market provides access to healthy, locally sourced food, handmade goods, and cultural experiences for all ages.

Description

Volunteers are essential to the success of the Lakeview Farmers’ & Artisan Market! We’re currently recruiting for the 2025 season. Roles are divided into two shifts each Sunday, and volunteers may sign up for one or both shifts across any number of Sundays based on availability.

Shift Options:

  • Morning Shift: 7:30 AM – 11:30 AM

  • Midday Shift: 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Volunteer Roles:

  • Bike Valet Attendant
    Help visitors park their bikes safely, tag and organize bicycles, and promote eco-friendly travel options. A great role for friendly, active volunteers who love outdoor interaction.

  • Market Attendant
    Float between tasks such as greeting visitors, supporting vendors, assisting at the information booth, collecting feedback, and ensuring smooth customer experiences throughout the market.

  • Market Load-In & Load-Out (Set-Up & Tear-Down)

    • Morning: Set up tents, tables, chairs, signage, and the overall layout (7:30–9:00 AM)

    • Afternoon: Assist with end-of-day cleanup, tear-down of equipment, and reorganization of storage items (2:00–3:00 PM)
      This physically active role is ideal for early risers or those available at closing time.

  • Volunteer Captain
    A leadership role for experienced volunteers. Provide on-site support to the team, coordinate shift changes, and help orient new volunteers. Captains serve as point-of-contact for the day.

  • Servery (Café Helper)
    Assist with café operations, serving coffee and refreshments, tidying tables, and creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests. Great for volunteers with a customer service mindset.

  • Crafts Table
    Host fun, hands-on craft activities such as bracelet-making or seasonal DIYs. Engage children and families in creative projects while maintaining a clean and friendly setup.

Note: Volunteers are typically assigned to a primary position but may be asked to support other tasks based on the day’s needs and flow. Flexibility and teamwork are always appreciated.

Volunteering takes place every Sunday during the market season. You don’t need to commit to every week—just sign up for the dates that work best for you!

Training

No prior experience? No problem!

All volunteer roles are beginner-friendly and do not require previous training. We’ll provide on-site guidance and ongoing support. All you need is a positive attitude, a willingness to help, and a commitment to the team.
