GoalVON Canada is a national, not-for-profit, charitable home and community care organization. For more than 115 years, our nurses, therapists and other health care providers have cared for Canadians in their own homes. Today, we offer more than 75 home care, personal support, and community services designed to help people of all ages to get healthy and stay healthy. Our team of more than 5,000 staff and 9,000 volunteers serves Canadians in more than 1,200 communities across our country. 'Meals on Wheels' has our volunteers delivering hot and/or frozen nutritious meals to our clients' homes, and in doing so all involved contribute towards sustaining the health of VON clients.DURING the COVID-19 Emergency, strict HEALTH & SAFETY procedures are being followed, including 'contactless delivery'. A critical aspect of our connectivity to our clients is the need to ensure they do not have symptoms associated with COVID-19, and we're implementing a TELEPHONE SCREENING PROGRAM for that purpose, conducted by volunteers under the supervision of the local chapter of VON Canada. |
