Elder Help Peel is a Canadian nonprofit organization founded in 1998. For over 25 years, with its enthusiastic and community-based volunteers, Elder Help Peel (EHP) has provided older adults and seniors age 55+ residing in Peel Region, with caring and compassionate social programs, services, and events. EHP is committed to diversity and inclusion with its focus on interactive social programs and healthcare services which enable seniors to stay socially connected, active, healthy, and engaged in the community.


Description

Join our Board of Directors – Member, Director - Fundraising/Sponsorship

Elder Help Peel is seeking an experienced fundraiser to join our Board of Directors. The Fundraising Director will work closely with the board, staff and volunteer team to plan and implement fundraising campaigns and events that meet the strategic objectives of the organization.

Director Responsibilities:

  • Develop a quarterly philanthropic revenue cycle, including appeals
  • Cultivate and solicit major donors
  • Share and implement ideas to improve fundraising strategy
  • Write newsletter articles for the “Giving Back” section of the newsletter
  • Attend all Board meetings and participate independently and knowledgeably in all deliberations of the Board
  • Stay informed about committee matters, prepare well for meetings, review and comment on minutes and reports
  • Operate with integrity, credibility, and a passion for improving the lives of lonely and socially isolated seniors
  • Cultivate relationships with our corporate and community partners
  • Participate in Elder Help Peel fundraising and other relevant special events during some weekends
  • Alignment with our vision, mission and values is crucial

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Expertise in Fundraising/Sponsorship
  • An educational background and / or commensurate experience in fundraising
  • An enthusiasm for generating ideas and solutions
  • Strong organization and communication skills with keen attention to detail
  • Organized and able to meet deadlines
  • Experience working with not-for-profit organizations is an asset
  • Fluent in English Language required, plus other languages, an asset
  • Excellent oral, written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills

Commitment:

This is an on-going volunteer role that requires a time commitment of between 3-5 hours per month, in addition to monthly 1 hour in-person Board meetings
12 Board meetings per fiscal year

    Time Commitment
    This is a Long Term (More than 6 months) commitment starting 2024-11-04
    Shifts are available Anytime
