Goal

Basket Brigade Canada is a charitable organization that delivers food to needy people. Since 1993, we have delivered thousands of holiday baskets so that deserving families can celebrate the holidays. We are a volunteer-run charity with 10 branches across Canada, including an outreach that serves Peel region. Our Fundraiser Celebration is Saturday, November 23, 2024, and we're incredibly busy preparing our event which will help us with our Christmas meal delivery program that will feed a projected 620 in Mississauga, Brampton, and the GTA so that they will be able to celebrate Christmas with food on the table.


Description

1 shift: Saturday, November 23 from 8pm to 10pm

8:00pm - Begin putting items away, sorting and packing items

9pm - when event the ends, decorations need to be packed carefully, all rental items need to be accounted for and packed, linens needs to be folded, silent auction items left, need to be packed, cars need to be packed, tables need to be knocked down, chairs put away. 4-6 volunteers required.

Volunteers should have a valid drivers G license and insurance, and use their own vehicle.  If someone wants to volunteer for this position, a car is not required.  Transit is available in the area, please plan to arrive early incase transit is slow.  Details of position will be provided.  PLEASE APPLY RIGHT AWAY.

Qualifications

  • Drivers will/may have a valid Ontario Class 'G' Driver's Licence, access to a reliable vehicle that is covered by auto insurance required in Ontario
  • Knowing your way around the area, would be most helpful
  • Light lifting, bending, carrying, walking
  • Volunteers should dress for the 'role' - comfortable clothing and shoes
  • Screening for these 'roles' will be 'virtual' (telephone/email, etc.). After you apply, check your 'Junk/Spam' for our emails and leave space in your phone's 'voicemail'.
