Goal

A Student Intern at Value Life Humanitarian Services will be able to make a meaningful impact by working closely with our senior community. The role involves preparing and delivering educational presentations, leading wellness activities, and engaging in meaningful discussions with elderly participants. This internship is designed for students who are passionate about health, wellness, and community service. The goal is to prepare the student for employment in the social services field. 

The primary goal of this internship is to empower seniors by providing educational resources, wellness activities, and engaging discussions that promote their overall well-being. Interns will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by fostering an environment of health, learning, and social engagement.


Description

Key Job Responsibilities 

1. Presentation Preparation and Delivery 

● Research and create informative PowerPoint presentations on topics including food and nutrition, health and wellness, and health and beauty products. 

● Ensure that the presentations are engaging, accurate, and tailored to the needs of our senior participants. 

● Present the prepared topics to seniors in a clear and understandable manner. ● Foster an interactive environment by encouraging questions and discussions during and after presentations. 

2. Wellness Activities 

● Lead physical wellness activities such as stretching exercises, Tai Chi, and facial massage sessions. 

● Research and select appropriate instructional videos to guide these activities, and perform them alongside the seniors to ensure proper technique and safety. 

3. Engagement and Discussion: 

● Facilitate group discussions with seniors following the presentations and activities. ● Encourage participation, listen actively, and provide support and guidance as needed. ● Collaborate with staff to continuously improve the program and its impact on the senior community.

As a Student Intern at Value Life Humanitarian Services, you will be responsible for designing and delivering educational presentations on topics related to food and nutrition, health and wellness, and beauty products. In addition to preparing and presenting content, you will lead physical wellness activities such as stretching exercises, Tai Chi, and facial massage sessions. You will also facilitate group discussions to ensure that seniors feel heard, supported, and engaged.
