Vita Centre is a non-profit charitable organization, serving Peel region, dedicated to providing excellent support, education, and counselling to vulnerable families, including pregnant and parenting youth, with the goal of empowering them to move forward and thrive. We look to achieve a community where families can make a choice for life, even in undesirable circumstances, such that they become established, supported, and accepted, thereby allowing positive outcomes for their child. Through this Bingo Volunteer position, you will be supporting the financial stability of Vita Centre, allowing the organization to continue delivering its Mission
Description

Bingo Volunteers will be engaged at the Delta Bingo & Gaming (4141 Dixie Road, Mississauga - see MAP, below), as follows:

  • Sell bingo books and manage cash transactions

  • Record prize payouts and provide these payouts to the bingo hall Runners (paid Delta Bingo staff) for distribution

  • Follow all hall rules and dress code requirements

  • Represent Vita Centre by providing exceptional customer service to Bingo players. This involves answering any questions Bingo players might have about Vita Centre or about the Bingo game, plus responding to players' requests for assistance

Vita Centre is currently recruiting Bingo Volunteers for start ASAP. Volunteers with profiles within Volunteer MBC's Referral System can gain immediate access to Vita Centre volunteer application form by clicking the yellow box 'Apply Now!' (above). Complete the application, then follow the instructions on the form to submit it. Your name/contact info will also be added to a List of Applicants for this volunteering opportunity. Qualifications

  • Minimum Age - 18
  • You have strong customer service skills, are an effective communicator, and you interact with others easily and confidently
  • Comfortable handling cash and basic record-keeping
  • Committment to volunteering for AT LEAST 6 MONTHS (see TIME COMMITMENT, below)
  • Punctual, reliable, able to volunteer with a minimum of supervision
  • Committed to abide by Bingo Hall policies/procedures

Time Commitment
This is a Long Term (More than 6 months) commitment starting 2025-07-18 AND ending 2026-07-17
Shifts are available on the following days
 - Friday Morning, Friday Afternoon

WEEKLY, on Friday (except on 2nd Fridays of the month): One 3.5 HOUR SHIFT (Friday from 11:45PM - 3:15PM or 2:45PM - 6:15PM depending on our assigned schedule)
Volunteers should take into account travel time to the Bingo Hall, in order to arrive promptly for their shift.
Training

General orientation to Vita Centre provided .

New volunteers will be provided with role specific training while shadowing an assignment
