GoalWorking alongside a team of business professionals, Company Program Advisors act as business mentors, role models and facilitators to a group of 20-25 high school students during an 18-week entrepreneurial journey to create, run and liquidate a business. This unique learning experience empowers young people in grades 9-12 with the skills, connections, and confidence to build something incredible - a business, a community, and a bright future. As a volunteer Company Program advisor, you will inspire students to dream big and set ambitious goals. Working alongside a team of business professionals, advisors act as mentors, role models and facilitators to a group of 20-25 high school students. Across 18 weeks, these students will create, run and liquidate a unique business. |

DescriptionLocation: The program will be running in-person @ Brampton City Hall Date & Time: Monday Evenings from 6-8pm Number of advisors: Each advising team will consist of 3 to 8 volunteer advisors who work collaboratively to support and facilitate the program. Number of students: With your advising team, you will be supporting a team of 10 to 25 high school students. You will be mentoring the same group of students for the entirety of the program. One business: The group of students you work with will come up with one business to create and run over the 18 weeks. Curriculum: Resources, training, and support for all volunteers are provided by the JA Central Ontario Company Program team

QualificationsWe encourage volunteers from all professional backgrounds and areas of expertise to participate. Advisors do not require specific expertise or knowledge, only a passion and willingness to support young people and the ability to foster teamwork. The JA Company Program team provides resources, training, and support for all volunteers. Volunteers must complete a Vulnerable Sector Screening Check and provide two references to participate in the program. Details and instructions will be provided at registration. Note new advisors will be required to attend two virtual trainings in October. Time CommitmentThis is a Medium Term (4 - 6 months) commitment starting 2025-11-03 AND ending 2026-04-27
Shifts are available on the following days - Monday Evening Please note the program does pause during late decemeber/early Janaury to accomdate the 2 week school clsourse over the holdays. Porgram will pauses in late Januaray when students have exams. |

TrainingFirst Year Advisor Virtual Training: October 16th from 5:30 - 6:45pm Full Advsior Virtual Training: October 21st from 5:30 - 7:15 pm Please note first time advsiors will need to attend bot sessions.
