Goal

Are you interested helping create and foster community partnerships for education? We are looking for new Outreach Committee Members to join our GTA Volunteer Chapter of Dying With Dignity Canada.


Description

A committee member will support the Outreach Committee Chair in the chapter’s endeavours to deliver GTA-appropriate initiatives in educating various GTA audiences about Canada’s Medical Assistance in Dying (MAID) legislation, End-ofLife Options and Advance Care Planning (ACP).

The succesful candidate will:

Assist in identifying opportunities to translate National Office goals into local action

Strategize plans for and network with organizations, interest groups, media outlets, and individuals to seek opportunities for the Chapter to raise awareness of MAID and ACP through presentations

Assist with implementing Chapter’s outreach initiatives and actions including making phone calls and sending emails about presentations offered

Qualifications

Expressed interest and/or experience in marketing, communications, outreach or public relations work

A good sense of initiative and a willingness to bring your ideas to the group

Excellent written and oral communication, networking and teamwork skills

Comfortable speaking with and writing to stakeholders, potential audiences

Willingness to stay informed on legal issues and patient rights issues in Ontario and Canada

Time Commitment
This is a Long Term (More than 6 months) commitment
Shifts are available Anytime

Training

Training will take place by shadowing and interacting with existing Outreach Committee Member volunteers in the GTA Chapter.
