DescriptionWe are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Volunteer Teaching Assistant to support adult learners with developmental disabilities in a structured classroom environment. This role involves assisting the lead instructor in delivering engaging lessons in areas such as life skills, literacy, recreational learning, and community-focused activities. Time CommitmentThis is a Medium Term (4 - 6 months) commitment starting 2026-05-01 AND ending 2026-09-30
Shifts are available on the following days - Monday Morning, Monday Afternoon, Tuesday Morning, Tuesday Afternoon, Wednesday Morning, Wednesday Afternoon, Thursday Morning, Thursday Afternoon Classes are typically scheduled: Monday to Thursday (9:00 am - 3:00 pm) Shifts can be half day or full day hours. We ask that volunteers adhere to the classroom schedule that they choose, to create consistency for our learners. Should a schedule change be required, volunteers are expected to communicate to their supervisor or the instructor in charge. |

TrainingThe first days of this volunteer opportunity will revolve around getting to know the organization and the Pathways to Growth (P2G) Program inside and out. You will be trained on how our classrooms function and the goals of the program. Afterwards, you will be paired with an instructor and shadow her classes so that you get a chance to build rapport with your students. You will always have plenty of staff and support around you so that you will be successful in this role! |
