Goal

Bethell Hospice is seeking dedicated, qualified community minded individuals to enhance our Board of Directors Team by opening several Board Member positions. Bethell Hospice is a not-for-profit agency that provides community and residential hospice care to people diagnosed with a life-limiting illness. Our skilled professional staff and trained volunteers walk alongside those who are facing    life-challenging illness; supporting them, their families and friends. This is an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of many when you bring your skills; commitment and abilities to the Hospice.

Bethell Hospice is committed to ensuring we represent the diverse communities we serve and while we appreciate previous Board experience, it is not mandatory.

Specifically, we are seeking individuals with leadership experience in the following areas:

  • Business Operations
  • Governance & Compliance
  • Healthcare - Clinical/Administration/Research
  • Human Resources
  • Legal
  • IT/ Cyber Security
  • Quality Assurance


Description

Board of Director Responsibilities includes:

  • Prepare for and attend monthly Board meetings;
  • Board Committee participation to 1 committee is required (Finance, Human Resources, Governance, Executive)
  • Support the board in recommending necessary policy changes in support of the implementation of the revised by-laws;
  • Participate in an annual, full day strategic session;
  • Participate in implementation of the strategic direction for the organization;
  • Monitor the organization’s performance to achieve the vision and mission of Bethell Hospice;
  • Support the boards external communications and stakeholder engagement.
  • Participate in Bethell Hospice Foundation events to support raising funds for the organization; and
  • Actively contribute to the effective functioning of the Board;

Time Commitment:                            12 – 15 hours per month
