Goal

MICBA Forum Italia Community Services (Forum Italia) operates a Supportive Housing Program with the purpose of providing Attendant Services to seniors 65 and over in permanent community residential settings when their support service needs require the availability of 24-hour, on-site assistance. The role of any Supportive Housing program is to provide an alternative to Long Term Care facilities while maintaining people’s independence and integration into their communities. Ours is a multicultural initiative that has matured into an established presence, highly regarded in the community that we serve.

We have always recognized the challenges that older adults (especially seniors 65+) face in terms of being isolated within their communities, and in feeling genuinely lonely. Such isolation and loneliness often lead to physical and emotional health issues that seriously compromise a senior's enjoyment of life.

Bingo is easy for seniors to play and whether you win a little or a lot, every player can join in the fun and have a good time. Bingo takes concentration, including hand/eye coordination - which assists physical dexterity, listening, and short-term memory skills. It promotes socialization - which is essential for seniors to maintain a happy and healthy lifestyle. Bingo is an excellent way to promote mental, emotional, and physical health.

Our weekly Bingo program is open to all residents of 155 & 195 Forum Drive (Mississauga) as well as any family or friends from the community. Volunteers make this program possible!
