About the Position
Position: 2607 - STEM Camp Teachers (Science and/or Engineering background is a must)

Ideal for: Individual, Co-Op Placements, Older Adults
1. Lead groups of up to 30 students through curriculum-guided activities
2. Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment
3. Travel to our various partners with a mobile classroom
4. Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures
5. Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of STEM
6. Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use the information to adjust teaching strategies
7. Adequately prepare for each program by reading curriculum, watching training videos, and/or participating in face-to-face training sessions
8. Handle inquiries from parents regarding Rotary Club STEM programs.

The primary goal of this position will be to teach STEM, workshops.. Teachers will use creativity, teamwork, and problem solving skills, while educating students on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) concepts. Programs are conducted for children ages 10 to 12.. Curriculum and thorough training are provided to ensure that our Teachers are prepared to teach any topic. This role requires collaboration and communication with management, as well as representing the organization to parents & children with a high degree of professionalism.

Position Qualifications
● 2 or more years of experience working with children in a classroom or camp environment
● Academic degree (Science/Engineering) or comparable teaching experience recommended (teachers, pursuing a degree in education will also be considered for this position)
● Specific background in science and/or engineering preferred
● Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others
● Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
● Proven ability to report to a volunteer engagement on a regular and punctual basis
● Valid drivers license and access to reliable transportation
● Willingness to travel to various locations
