The following is a general list of typical tasking that this volunteer will be engaged in:
- Assist with HR programs, maintain information and related records systems
- Attend and take minutes at HR meetings
- Review and maintain all personnel files to organize information consistently and ensure compliance
- Posting employee information on the DBNC website in conjunction with our IT Dept
- Assist in planning activities, facilitating workshops and various training sessions for staff
- Assist staff in signing up and maintaining the employees benefits program
- Assist with employee stats and payroll change paperwork
- Research health and safety practices and suggest improvements or modifications to existing policies
- Serve on Health and Safety Committee, carry out checks as required
- Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures
- Be an 'ambassador' for DBNC (involved in publicity, promotion. and any fundraising, when requested)

SPECIFICALLY, the 'Volunteer HR Administrative Assistant' will provide important, essential support in the area of RECRUITMENT:
- Assisting with hiring process by posting positions on jobsites, the company website, and by means of internal memos
- Screening candidates, through jobsites, resumes, and phone interviews
- Setting up interviews, booking rooms, confirmations, interview questions, notifying candidates
- Checking references, new hire preparation
- Preparing employee letters, when requested
- New hire preparation, plus assist with orientation and training of new staff
- Co-ordinating employee performance appraisal programs
- Providing advice in respect of HR matters involved with volunteer recruitment/engagement

Board meetings are held on the 4th Tuesday of each month and are open to the community.

DBNC is in need of a 'Volunteer HR Administrative Assistant', who will be responsible for tasks and projects in support of our Human Resources Team. This dynamic opportunity is a wide-ranging role suited to an individual involved in an emerging or established HR-centred career path.

Position Qualifications
● Experience in group facilitation and staff engagement skills
● Familiarity with computer based word processing, database, Excel, social media, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.
● Excellent oral/written English communication skills and demonstrated judgement and discretion dealing with confidential and sensitive matters
● Enthusiastic team player, with a demonstrated ability to volunteer both collaboratively and independently
● Leadership experience or potential, strong organizational skills, attention to detail, with a demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and juggle competing demands
● Certifications in First Aid/ CPR are assets
● Availability for the weekly hours requested, overall at least 4 MONTHS, preferably more (see 'Time Commitment', below)

Orientation about DNBC's vision and mission will be provided, with introductory training and ongoing support.
