Goal

One-on-one, personally instruct and assist seniors in basic use of computers, associated technology and devices The Active Adult Centre of Mississauga's aim is to enrich the lives of seniors living in Peel by keeping them active, independent, and involved in the community. The Centre keeps seniors age 50+ engaged by offering a colourful range of over 80 weekly social, recreational, health. educational, and multicultural programs, of which computer instruction is an important part.


Description

One-to-one, instruction and assist seniors in the use of computers commonly used software and devices at the 'Active Adult Centre'

Qualifications

  • Experienced and comfortable in use of computers and troubleshooting 
  • Knowledge about commonly used software and devices and experience in teaching, training/ presenting information to seniors 
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to teach laypersons about computers and their applications
  • Friendly, outgoing, empathetic and  must be patient and willing to work with seniors with various levels of knowledge and understanding

Time Commitment
This is a Long Term (More than 6 months) commitment starting 2024-02-01 AND ending 2024-08-01
Shifts are available on the following days
 - Tuesday Afternoon, Friday Morning

This is a 6 month commitment (or longer pending room and student availability

Position begins February 2024

Shifts – Tuesday afternoons or  Friday mornings

Flexible schedule, although this is a six-month commitment for now, we hope that the session would lead to an ongoing session

 


Training

Orientation about the Centre will be provided.
