Goal

Caledon Special Olympics has entered into an arrangement with Mud Hero to offer volunteer support for its 'Toronto North' event (August 24, 25, 2019, in Caledon). This local chapter of the Special Olympics will benefit from part of the proceeds raised at 'Toronto North', and those funds in turn will benefit directly the athletes, projects, and events of the Special Olympics in Caledon.As an event volunteer in the role of confirming registration on site of the participant runners, you will have a key part in ensuring that this fun event proceeds smoothly and on schedule, and you will be there to assist the organizers in providing excellent 'customer service'.


Description

If you're a 'people person', YOU can help with registering attendees at the 'MUD HERO Toronto North Event'. In the Registration Tent, you will pair up with another volunteer to:● Welcome each registrant to an experience unlike any other● Confirm participants' IDs and pre-registrations● Provide each registrant with a 'Race Package' (bib & timing chip)● Provide the registrant with an appropriate size of 'Mud Hero T-Shirt'● Wish each registrant the best of luckPLEASE APPLY IMMEDIATELY (Event dates are CLOSE: August 24 (Sat), 25 (Sun), 2019) *** WHEN YOU APPLY THROUGH 'Eventbrite' by clicking on 'Apply Now!' Qualifications

● Prior event experience (walkathons/charity runs) will be helpful (but not required)● Strong oral/written communication skills● Strong organizational skills (with attention to detail)● Friendly, engaging with members of the public● Familiar with, and inclined towards, positive problem-solving combined with 'customer service'● Ability to travel to/from the event site reliably and on time

Time Commitment
This is a Special Event commitment starting 2019-08-24 AND ending 2019-08-25
Shifts are available on the following days
 - Saturday Morning, Saturday Afternoon, Sunday Morning, Sunday Afternoon

Shifts:BOTH Saturday & Sunday: 6:30 AM to 1:00 PM AND 11:30 AM to 5:30 PM each day(Please factor in transportation time to reach the event destination, so that you will be on time for the start of your shift)


Training

Orientation & Training will be provided about the event and specific role.
