Goal

Caledon Special Olympics has entered into an arrangement with Mud Hero to offer volunteer support for its 'Toronto North' event (August 24, 25, 2019, in Caledon). This local chapter of the Special Olympics will benefit from part of the proceeds raised at 'Toronto North', and those funds in turn will benefit directly the athletes, projects, and events of the Special Olympics in Caledon.As a 'Finish Line Ambassador', you will be there helping participant runners when they finish a very demanding course, with rewards of congratulations, appreciation, comfort, other help as needed, and a Medal! This role entails important public relations for the event and for Caledon Special Olympics. You will have an excellent opportunity to leave a great lasting impression.


Description

As the Mud Heroes (participant runners) cross the Finish Line, totally spent and covered in mud, you'll shepherd them away, while rewarding them with a really cool 'Mud Hero' Finisher's Medal. ● Ability to lend a helping hand and patient support, plus CONGRATULATIONS to participants at the conclusion of their run through the course● Friendly, comfortable, and enthusiastic engaging with the public● Ability to travel to/from the event site reliably and on time

Time Commitment
This is a Special Event commitment starting 2019-08-24 AND ending 2019-08-25
Shifts are available on the following days
 - Saturday Morning, Saturday Afternoon, Sunday Morning, Sunday Afternoon

Shifts:BOTH Saturday & Sunday: 6:30 AM to 1:00 PM AND 11:30 AM to 5:30 PM each day(Please factor in transportation time to reach the event destination, so that you will be on time for the start of your shift)


Training

Orientation & Training will be provided about the event and specific role.
