GoalCaledon Special Olympics has entered into an arrangement with Mud Hero to offer volunteer support for its 'Toronto North' event (August 24, 25, 2019, in Caledon). This local chapter of the Special Olympics will benefit from part of the proceeds raised at 'Toronto North', and those funds in turn will benefit directly the athletes, projects, and events of the Special Olympics in Caledon.As a volunteer in the role of helping ensure that drinking water is supplied to runners on the course, you will be there helping participants navigate the challenging obstacles with adequate hydration. This will contribute to maintaining a comfortable, safe experience, and towards sustaining athletic performance ... while you watch the fun! |

Description+ You and 3 co-volunteers will be stationed at the halfway point on the course, where you'll hand out water. ++ You will fill the cups half-full, then hand them to the 'Mud Heroes' as they pass by. +++ You'll be on the course from the start of the first wave to just after the start of the last, so make sure you're appropriately dressed for the weather (eg. with a hat, plenty of sun screen, rain gear, if necessary, etc.)PLEASE APPLY IMMEDIATELY (Event dates are CLOSE: August 24 (Sat), 25 (Sun), 2019) *** WHEN YOU APPLY THROUGH 'Eventbrite' by clicking on 'Apply Now!' Qualifications● Outdoor event: Appropriate dress (incl. footwear, hat, sunscreen or rain gear as needed)● Ability to maintain cleanliness dispensing the water● You may be required to stand for extended periods● Friendly, engaging, and full of enthusiastic encouragement for the participants● Ability to travel to/from the event site reliably and on time Police Check: Not required Resume:Not required Driver's Licence: Not required Proof of Vaccination: Not required |

Time CommitmentThis is a Special Event commitment starting 2019-08-24 AND ending 2019-08-25
Shifts are available on the following days - Saturday Morning, Saturday Afternoon, Sunday Morning, Sunday Afternoon Shifts:BOTH Saturday & Sunday: 6:30 AM to 1:00 PM AND 11:30 AM to 5:30 PM each day(Please factor in transportation time to reach the event destination, so that you will be on time for the start of your shift) |
