GoalSafe City Mississauga is a registered charitable organization founded in 1992 to help reduce criminal opportunity and criminal victimization in Mississauga. We provide resources, staff, professional community leadership and guidance for crime prevention programs and activities. We also encourage crime prevention education within the public, private and voluntary sectors, plus research, develop and implement new community crime prevention programs and activities.We are in immediate need of volunteers for the role of 'Safe City Ambassador'. This 'position' is pivotal in planning and implementation of our events, as well as representing us at third-party events. |

DescriptionSafe City Ambassadors help plan and implement Safe City Mississauga events such as the Crime Prevention Conference, Justice Luncheon, and Neighbours Night Out. They also attend third-party events on behalf of Safe City Mississauga, working with the Safe City Mississauga Youth Cabinet. Volunteers typically set up an information table at an event and provide information to people who are interested in learning about, or participating in, crime prevention.*** PLEASE NOTE: We are 'virtually screening' applicants during the COVID-19 Emergency, so do not hesitate to use the yellow box 'Apply Now!' Time CommitmentThis is a Long Term (More than 6 months) commitment
Shifts are available Anytime Must be willing to commit to a MINIMUM of 4 events per year. Upcoming events will be scheduled and take place when relief from the COVID-19 Emergency occurs.FLEXIBLE, based on the volunteer's availability, although event dates largely dictate periods during which a 'Safe City Ambassador' will volunteer. |

TrainingOrientation and training will be provided upon booking of first event. All volunteers are provided with an introductory information package upon successful screening. |
