GoalAs an Event Planning Volunteer, you will develop events to raise social awareness of social justices issues, as well as promoting brand awareness of Studio.89!'Studio.89' is a social enterprise project of 'Youth Troopers for Global Awareness' (YTGA), a youth-led not-for-profit organization that mobilizes and empowers young people for social justice through the arts. Born in 2006 in Mississauga, Ontario, YTGA was founded by a group of very passionate students determined to bring about awareness of global and local issues through creative writing, visual art, theatre, and spoken word. We aim to be accessible and inclusive to all youth, all over the world! |

DescriptionAs a Programming Volunteer, you will develop events step by step, from the ground up, in the area of social justices. You will be conducting market research regarding similar events held in the community to identify opportunities for new and/or improved programming. After that, you can organize your own event and plan ahead in reaching participants. You will also collaborate with 'social media' volunteers to promote/publicize your event before, during, and after it happens. On the day of the event, you will be doing set-up, introduce Studio.89, ensure that the event runs smoothly by helping wherever needed.You will also have the ability to create meaningful relationships with other volunteers, and with participants of the programs that you will develop and deliver. Qualifications● Must have a knowledge and passion for social justice and social change● Friendly, engaging, willing to learn leadership skills● Commitment to volunteer as part of a team, plus exercise independent initiative● Solid oral/written communication skills● Ability to be highly organized, plus adhere to planning schedules and deadlines● Ability to conduct research (through the use of various media - Internet, library resources, etc.) is an asset● Being positive and have the will to serve the community● AGE RANGE - 15 to 30 Police Check: Not required Resume:Not required Driver's Licence: Not required Proof of Vaccination: Not required |
