GoalThe Breast Cancer Society of Canada, (BCSC) is a registered, national non-profit charity dedicated to saving lives through breast cancer research. We raise money to fund patient-focused research for the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of breast cancer.Our first Mother's Day Walk was held on Sunday, May 12th 1991. In 2019, our Mother's Day 5K Walks will be held in 10 Canadian cities, including Mississauga.These great family events don't happen without an army of dedicated, enthusiastic and helpful event volunteers, who devote their time for a truly worthy cause. |

DescriptionOur 'Event Volunteers' take on a wide variety of roles:- Set Up: Tents, Tables, Signage- Parking Attendants- Greeters- Participant Engagement Station (ensuring a great participant and family experience)- Photo Booth- Directional Guards (keeping everyone on the walking route)- Refreshment Station- Survivor Central (for breast cancer survivors, often run by volunteer survivors)- Swag & Vendor Tables (a fundraising feature)- Tear Down & Clean UpPLEASE APPLY AS SOON AS POSSIBLE for this May 12, 2019 EVENT! Qualifications● Support for the BCSC, its mission and commitment to awareness● Willingness to be friendly and engaging with participants (and their families and friends)● Solid oral English communication skills (fluency in other languages welcome)● Skills/experience to facilitate a specific role always welcome● Physical ability to volunteer at an outdoor event (incl. standing, walking, event set up/tear down, if applicable)● Willingness to volunteer as part of a team● Appropriate dress to the weather conditions● Punctuality is a MUST (for the event and any training) Police Check: Not required Resume:Not required Driver's Licence: Not required Proof of Vaccination: Not required |
