Through a 5-part series, seniors will learn how to coach other seniors and be an expert on the topic!This initiative is GREAT WAY for seniors to engage with other seniors and their local community!


Description

● IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO EXPLORE THIS VOLUNTEERING OPPORTUNITY, Please Call: 905-457-4747 ext. 3013● By means of a 5-part training series, volunteers will learn and become confident about coaching other seniors● As you progress, you will:- be part of focus groups- assist with organization of events- be able to invite friends and family to join you in trainings and in the events- develop capabilities for outreach in your community

Qualifications

● Minimum Age - 55● You must be able to speak a second language (Punjabi, Arabic, Spanish, Urdu, Mandarin, or any other language)● Mandatory 'Police Vulnerable Sector Check' (Fee will be paid by CET)● No prior experience necessary (that's why a comprehensive training program is part of this initiative!)● Friendly, committed to engagement in the program, with your contemporaries, and with the community● Commitment to attend all (5) training sessions

Time Commitment
This is a Short Term (3 months or less) commitment starting 2019-05-09 AND ending 2019-10-08
Shifts are available on the following days
 - Wednesday Afternoon

Initially, ATTEND ALL (5) TRAININGS (Wednesday afternoon), schedule will be communicated to volunteer participants
