Goal

Celebrating 100 years in 2018, the CNIB Foundation is a high profile. non-profit organization driven to change what it is to be blind today. We deliver innovative programs and powerful advocacy that empower people impacted by blindness to live their dreams and tear down barriers to inclusion. Our work as a blind foundation is powered by a network of volunteers, donors and partners from coast to coast to coast. Our 'Fashion Coordinator' volunteers will have a unique opportunity to facilitate makeup and fashion workshops for youth with sight loss.


Description

The role of 'Fashion Coordinator' features the following activities:- Facilitate workshops for youth who have sight loss on how to build a wardrobe - Instruct techniques for identifying body types and styles to suit each one- Running workshops on dressing for success, dressing for formal occasions and proms- Makeup sessions (if applicable)PLEASE APPLY at the earliest opportunity (by no later than January 3, 2020). Qualifications

● Minimum age - 19● Students from a fashion program or part of the fashion industry who have the necessary knowledge to teach fashion coordination to novices or for those who want to expand on knowledge of trends and style● Person must have knowledge of fashion or professional experience● Patient, empathetic and friendly● Excellent communication skills● Able to commit for 2 hours once a week over a 8 week period (preferred engagement of at least 6 months)

Time Commitment
This is a Long Term (More than 6 months) commitment starting 2019-12-16
Shifts are available on the following days
 - Monday Morning, Monday Afternoon, Tuesday Morning, Tuesday Afternoon, Wednesday Morning, Wednesday Afternoon, Thursday Morning, Thursday Afternoon, Friday Morning, Friday Afternoon

The fashion coordination program will run for 8 weeks, once a week for 2 hours.


Training

CNIB is Canada's primary source of support for people who are blind or partially sighted to have the confidence, skills and opportunities to fully participate in life. Our volunteers will have the necessary sensitivity training and sighted guide training to work with youth with vision loss.
