Goal

INDUS Community Services (formerly known as 'India Rainbow Club of Peel') was founded in 1985 by concerned members of the Indo-Canadian community to meet the settlement and social service needs of newcomers from the Indian sub-continent. With our increasingly expanded mission, we provide educational, social, settlement, health and employment related services to help all new immigrants in the Peel region. The Indus 'Youth Zone' is a program for teenagers aged 14-18, who are from various cultural and linguistic backgrounds in the Peel region. These teens will participate in activities that involve engagement with local first responders such as police, firefighters, and paramedics to help break down barriers, dispel up any preconceived notions that may exist, and gain career mentorship within the emergency management services. This opportunity allows for connection through creating positive relationships, mentorship with first responders, strengthening our communities and establishing trust, while allowing youth to work toward their community service hours while also having fun and discussing the issues that impact them.

Description

Over several months, you will be able to network with your peers and first responders in a safe and inclusive environment through activities, discussion groups and educational workshops. The culmination of the program will be a final sports event where youth and first responders will participate in a friendly sports match. DON'T DELAY PURSUING THIS EXCELLENT OPPORTUNITY!
