Goal

Celebrating 100 years in 2018, the CNIB Foundation is a high profile. non-profit organization driven to change what it is to be blind today. We deliver innovative programs and powerful advocacy that empower people impacted by blindness to live their dreams and tear down barriers to inclusion. Our work as a blind foundation is powered by a network of volunteers, donors and partners from coast to coast to coast. Our 'Partnerships & Outreach Coordinator' will be a dynamic, engaging volunteer, who works with advocacy team members to coordinate our Ambassador and outreach campaigns across the GTA, build relationships, and help us reach people with sight loss in all areas of the region.


Description

Responsibilities & Tasks:● Proactive relationship building with community organizations who have shared goals with CNIB's mission● Provide support to participants and volunteers involved in CNIB's community advocacy and outreach work● Assist with implementing an outreach strategy to promote CNIB programs and services across all regions of the GTA, particularly those that are currently underserved by CNIB ● Represent CNIB by attending health fairs, expos, and other related community events● Monitor and coordinate outreach events and program materials to ensure that volunteers have all the relevant resources ● Participate as a fully integrated member of the GTA Foundation team with regular travel within the GTA● Assist in recruitment and onboarding of CNIB Ambassador and Advocate volunteers and track volunteer activity including capturing program statistics ● Other tasks as assignedPLEASE APPLY at the earliest opportunity (and by no later than March 20, 2020). Qualifications

● Well-developed interpersonal skills when dealing with individuals, groups, partners and organizations ● Excellent written and oral communications skills● Self-starter who takes initiative with tasks and can work independently ● Creative and innovative problem-solving skills ● Detail-oriented, highly organized, with excellent multi-project and time management skills ● Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software ● Capable of working under tight deadlines● Experience working with not-for-profit organizations● Available to attend CNIB orientation/training (incl. About CNIB, About the people we help, About vision loss, and About volunteering at CNIB)● Commitment to abide by CNIB's Volunteer Code of Conduct, including policies and procedures concerning confidentiality, conflict of interest, and the prevention of workplace harassment and violence*** Preliminary Screening:- Long application form- Orientation- 2 character references- Police Vulnerable Sector Check

This is a Long Term (More than 6 months) commitment
Shifts are available on the following days
 - Monday Morning, Monday Afternoon, Tuesday Morning, Tuesday Afternoon, Wednesday Morning, Wednesday Afternoon, Thursday Morning, Thursday Afternoon, Friday Morning, Friday Afternoon

WEEKKDAYS: 2 or 3 days on the working schedule, or minimum number of hours as required under guidelines of any applicable school placement program
