Learn about various ways you can be involved with the Canadian Cancer Society as a LEADERSHIP VOLUNTEER.We recognize that many people are eager to come forward and help others during the COVID-19 emergency. We thank you for your desire to help. The Canadian Cancer Society continues to need this support, especially given the fact that many people whom the CCS serves are currently are more vulnerable and correspondingly at increased risk. Our VOLUNTEER RECRUITING continues, and we look to leadership (with imagination/creativity/commitment) that is capable of helping the CCS weather COVID-19, PLUS as an 'HR' investment for improving current programs and other initiatives and innovative planning (programming/awareness & funding campaigns/'brand' amplification)

Description

As impacts of the COVID-19 virus are felt across the country, our mission - to eradicate cancer and enhance the quality of life of people living with cancer - cannot afford to slow down. However, we are also committed to making sure that all our clients, staff, volunteers, and stakeholders are safe while working with us and the people whom we serve. At this time, a number of volunteering opportunities also will 'go virtual' or be suspended where existing programs of necessity are placed 'on hold'. This does not mean, however, that these programs will not be reviewed, assessed and evaluated, all for the purpose of improvement/enhancement, ideally with formulation of plans to introduce improvements.ALSO, at this time, in light of the need for PHYSICAL 'social distancing', we will not be conducting face-to-face interviews and may need to delay onboarding new volunteers to accommodate shifted timelines.  We would be happy to arrange a phone/online chat with those interested in a VOLUNTEER LEADERSHIP ROLE to let you know more about who we are, our mission/vision, programs and opportunities available, and in particular to hear from YOU as to what skills/experience you can bring to the CCS and in what ways you see yourself contributing in an impactful and lasting fashion.THANK YOU for your commitment to CCS's mission, and it is our sincere hope that together we can work through these difficult times to support the people who need us, and in fact, need YOU!
