GoalBig Brothers Big Sisters of Peel inspires and empowers children and youth through mentoring and supportive relationships. Mentoring by volunteers is a core activity, and the Peel chapter continues to help so many young people annually.As a volunteer under our Mentoring Program, you will define the enormous good that Big Brothers Big Sisters do in the local community for our youth. |

Description'Big Bunch' is group program designed for children waiting to be matched. Activities are planned by the agency. Access to a vehicle is necessary. Volunteers are involved with youth on our wait list who are waiting for a Big Sister, Big Brother or Group Mentoring Program. The agency plans 3 to 4 outings per month.Volunteers sign up to bring children to AT LEAST ONE outing per month, over a ONE YEAR period. Activities include sporting events, bowling, multicultural evenings, crafts, movies and more. |

Qualifications● Friendly, engaging towards youth● Aware of, empathetic towards their personal challenges and needs● Solid oral English language skills● Minimum age - 18● Minimum length of volunteering commitment - 1 year● 'Police Vulnerable Sector Check' required● Valid class 'G' driver's licence, and access to a reliable vehicle● Organized, reliable, able to abide by scheduling● Must complete 2 hour 'Orientation & Training' session Police Check: Required Resume:Not required Driver's Licence: Not required Proof of Vaccination: Not required |

Time CommitmentThis is a Long Term (More than 6 months) commitment
Shifts are available on the following days - Monday Evening, Tuesday Evening, Wednesday Evening, Thursday Evening, Friday Evening, Saturday Morning, Saturday Afternoon, Saturday Evening, Sunday Morning, Sunday Afternoon, Sunday Evening FLEXIBLE, subject to scheduling of outings (we plan 3 or 4 outings per month)Volunteers must engage in AT LEAST ONE outing monthly, together an overall commitment of ONE YEAR |
