GoalAt the heart of 'Caledon Community Services' (CCS) is an innovative and exciting volunteer program that is integrated into every service, activity, project and business operation of the agency. From students to seniors, business professionals, homemakers, newly-retired, semi-retired, and everything in between, volunteers reflect the Caledon demographic and help us serve the community more fully.As part of our extensive 'Seniors Programs', CCS has recognized the need for older adults to become 'computer literate', should they desire to do so. A key goal of this role is to accomplish that in a responsible, safe manner (eg. bearing in mind security concerns about the Internet). This initiative reflects the CCS philosophy that our programs and our volunteers be able to help people help themselves by working creatively and responding to community needs. |

Description● Provide one-on-one instruction on basic computer skills● Plan with program 'team lead' material to be covered (eg. basic PC/Mac (and/or other devices) operation, setting up email accounts, retrieving/sending information over the Internet, etc.)● Deliver information about (incl. the importance of) safety and security on the Web, plus promote safe practicesPLEASE ACCESS the CCS 'VOLUNTEER APPLICATION FORM' by 'clicking on' the yellow box 'Apply Now!', below. |

Qualifications● Intermediate to advanced computer skills (able to navigate comfortably, and explain, WINDOWS, Mac, Android, Facebook, Twitter, and other software/platforms/applications)● Solid oral/written communication skills● Prepared to accommodate new learners● Ability to present with clear instructions that a layperson will understand● Sensitivity to different levels of comfort/awareness among the participants in the program**** Due to close involvement with seniors in this program, a satisfactory 'Police Vulnerable Sector Check' is necessary Police Check: Required Resume:Not required Driver's Licence: Not required Proof of Vaccination: Not required |
