GoalCaledon Meals on Wheels envisages a community where individuals can enjoy healthy, independent and connected living at any age. We provide a range of programs and services that promote nutrition, wellness, and social interaction. Among these is 'Telechat' that focuses primarily on seniors in the Caledon area who are isolated by physical limitation, infirmity, and who find it challenging to socialize. Our 'Volunteers for Telechat' provide a welcome bridge or connection that is of tremendous benefit in terms of mutual health and wellness of these seniors. It's a great support in addition to our core 'Meals on Wheels' program! |

Description'Volunteers for Telechat' are paired with a senior for a friendly telephone chat (and optional 'virtual' communication online, if requested) at least once a week. If you have some extra time and would like to brighten a senior's day we would love to hear from you! Our volunteers essentially act as 'guardian angels' by checking in regularly. |
