Goal

Volunteers will work alongside our employees to provide adults who have an intellectual disability with opportunities to participate in meaningful social, recreational and leisure activities Additionally, volunteers will befriend and encourage the adults to participate and have fun!


Description

  • The volunteers will befriend, motivate and participate with people who have an intellectual disability in planned activities.
  • Volunteers would be working alongside our trained employees to provide adults who have an intellectual disability with opportunities to participate in social, recreational and leisure opportunities.
  • Community Living Mississauga operates 4 centres (Base Sites) in the community. The activities volunteers would be involved with are held both onsite and in the community.
  • The volunteer must be available for a minimum of 4 hours a week/every other week/or monthly.

Qualifications

  • Virtual interview with the Manager of Volunteer Services
  • Three references
  • Vulnerable Sector Police Check
  • Proof of double vaccination against COVID-19
  • Free Orientation and Training
  • Willing to volunteer a minimum of 4 hours weekly/every other week/or monthly (time commitment to be decided before beginning volunteer role)

Time Commitment
This is a Medium Term (4 - 6 months) commitment starting 2023-01-02
Shifts are available Anytime

Flexible work schedule based on volunteers availability. Base Site hours of operation are Monday - Friday 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.


Training

Orientation and Training will be provided.
