Position Description |
The 'Volunteer Knitting Coordinator' role and its responsibilities > Supported by Osler's Volunteer & Community Resources (VCR) Department and the Volunteer Association (VA), the 'Volunteer Knitting Coordinator' will: ● Act as liaison between VCR and knitters to foster positive and supportive relationships ● Seek, purchase, and distribute yarns to community knitters ● Independently coordinate and pick-up completed knitting projects/products from off-site community knitters and deliver them to the VCR office monthly ● Maintain accurate bookkeeping of yarn purchases, distributions, and mileage traveled for reimbursements from the Volunteer Association ● Familiarity with a computer software for record keeping (such as Microsoft Excel) would be an asset |
Training Details | The successful candidate will be trained by the current 'volunteer knitting coordinator' to ensure successful transition. This will include, but not be limited to, shadowing the knitting coordinator on 1 to 2 trips in the field in order to be familiar with the pick-up protocol and coordination methods, as well as introducing the new coordinator to the various community knitters. |
