Position Title: Board Member (Human Resources)
Organization Name: Caledon Parent-Child Centre/EarlyON Centre

Position Description: The Human Resources Committee provides assistance and support to the leadership team of the Caledon Parent-Child Centre (CPCC). The Committee is responsible for reviewing the Centre's policies, as they relate to employees, to ensure appropriate compensation, benefits, responsibilities and performance.

General Responsibilities:
● Participate in setting the directions and policies of the organization to ensure that the needs of Caledon families and children are met
● Ensure fiscal responsibility and monitor funding in accordance with the organization's mandate
● Play an active role in advising and supporting the Executive Director at Board and Committee meetings
● Participate in the development of long-term plans for the organization
● Attend and actively participate in Board meetings (approximately 10 meetings per annum, usually on the 4th Monday of the month. Meeting location: Bolton)
● Serve on a minimum of one Board Committee and work independently on assigned activities
● Support fundraising projects and activities Particular Duties & Responsibilities re. Human Resources:
● Review wages and decide annually, together with the Finance Committee, of any salary increases
● Assist the Executive Director with the hiring and dismissal of employees
● Provide support to the Executive Director for concerns that may arise regarding employees of the CPCC
● Provide guidance to the Executive Director for approval of matters as stated in the Human Resources Policy
● Perform an annual evaluation of the Executive Director

Training Details: General orienation to CPCC/OEYC will be provided, as well as Board orientation.

Training on-going, and further training and development opportunities will also be provided.
