| Position Description |
Coordinating volunteers typically entails the following: RECRUITMENT/PLACEMENT - Source and recruit volunteers through various channels (personal outreach, recruitment events, 'third party' sourcing, databases, e-mail, 'social media', etc.) - Conduct 'screening' of volunteers appropriate to the 'role' to be filled - Gather information about volunteers' individual skills/capabilities, and in reference to availability - Communicate frequently with volunteers to ensure they are satisfied and well-placed - Arrange for appropriate training when needed MANAGEMENT - Produce schedules for everyday activities - Assign tasks/activities to willing and capable volunteers for special events, projects, programs - Among volunteers, promote the purpose of 'HOPCP', and the relevance/contributions of both the organization and our volunteers - Regular thank volunteers for their 'hours' of service, plus arrange appropriate recognition - Coordinate teams of volunteers for large-scale undertakings - On a regular basis, disseminate information for upcoming actions and events - Keep detailed records of volunteers' information, assignments, self-evaluations, and performance reviews PLEASE APPLY AT THE EARLIEST OPPORTUNITY for this important, key volunteer leadership opportunity (by no later than September 30, 2019).
