Position Description

Reporting to the Manager of Community Relations & Volunteers, AEPC chair or designate, AEPC volunteers attend monthly meetings (virtual or in-person) to work with CPCC staff in planning and executing several fundraising and/or community relations events per year. Some off-site volunteer work and event volunteer shifts may be required.




  • Attend regularly scheduled meetings

  • Establish event goals

  • Provide recommendations for achieving event goals

  • Participate in the planning and execution of events

  • Solicit gifts and donations in support of fundraising events

  • Identify prospects

  • Participate in a specific planning activities to achieve the overall event goal

  • Represent the event in the media in a positive manner

  • Provide feedback and evaluation at the end of the event



TIME COMMITMENT:




  • Online orientation

  • Regularly scheduled meetings

  • Time to complete assignments/tasks that arise from the meetings.

  • Event day – agreed upon schedule

Training Details

All AEPC volunteers will participate in a volunteer interview and orientation process that covers a thorough review of the CPCC Volunteer manual, policies and procedures. Event day procedures and safety are also covered. Vulnerable sector check or police check will be required.

Time Detail

The CPCC AEP Committee holds monthly meetings throughout the year (summer excluded). The committee typically plans and executes 3-5 events per year, and our AEPC volunteers assist (as availablility permits) with event execution, supported by staff, other volunteers, etc. Occasionally, we also offer volunteer support to community groups who are honouring us as recipients of funds raised in 3rd party fundraisers.
