Position Description: ● Board Members perform governance that is typical of a Board that oversees a not-for-profit, with focus on community services/outreach for elderly residents in the local community
● Currently, the organization is seeking individuals who have the following skills and/or previous experience (to enhance the depth and scope of our Board):

- Financial Management
- Legal Affairs
- Education

Goal of Position: Elder Help - Peel (EHP), a not-for-profit organization serving diverse seniors who are residents of Peel region (Brampton, Bramalea, and neighbouring vicinities), seeks committed community members to serve our organization in a leadership capacity on our Board of Directors.

Our 'mission' is to enrich the lives of elderly Peel residents by offering information, education, and supportive services in a welcoming and inclusive environment that fosters independence and community connections. Our services are critical in helping shape the community as the population ages so that seniors continue to be valued and relevant in our community.

EHP Board of Directors meet in Brampton once a month for 2 to 3 hours, and Members will also attend our AGM and be part of important committee work.

Training Details: Orientation to Board membership and to EHP overall will be provided.
Position Qualifications: ● Minimum age - 18
● Period of service required: 1 to 3 year term
● Awareness of, and sensitive to, issues that affect older adults in Peel region is an asset
● Commitment to diversity and inclusiveness
● Prior involvement as a board member or in a leadership role in the not-for-profit sector is an asset
● Expertise and/or experiemce in one or more areas listed in 'Position Description' preferred
● Members are required to sign a 'confidentiality agreement'
Time Commitment: Anytime
Duration: Long Term (More than 6 months)
Time Detail: Meeting times and dates to be scheduled. Anticipate 2 to 3 hours per month as a MINIMUM.
