About the Position
Girls Empowerment Movement Beaux-Arts Brampton, Main Street North, Brampton, ON, Canada Brampton
As a participant, you will focus on the issue of fast fashion: what is it, what are its impacts, why does it matter, and what can young people do about it?

We will also be creating some take home DIYs. Please bring any books for our book swap! Lunch and refreshments will be served. Bus tickets and volunteer hours can be provided on request.

GEM is an open and inclusive organization, and we value diversity enormously. We welcome youth of all backgrounds and abilities to attend this event! Don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or concerns.

PLEASE APPLY ASAP TO AVOID DISAPPOINTMENT (25 places are available)
> Connect with your community including other youth and organizations
> Learn more about sustainability in the Peel Region and in the world at large
> Acquire new worthwhile skills (incl. growing plants, cooking, and reducing waste)
> Play an active role in making the project a success
> Upon request, you will receive acknowledgement of volunteer hours that can be part of your '40 volunteer hours secondary school graduation requirement
● Young people (ages 12-25) currently residing in the Peel Region are welcome to apply (register for the workshop)
● Please arrive on time (NOON, Saturday, August 25)
● Please be prepared to actively participate in, and contribute to, the workshop
Orientation and training not required.
Attendees are asked to arrive on time for the event (Saturday, August 25 - NOON to 3:30pm)
