Given that no 'Mud Hero' wants their gear bag dragging them down as they speed through our obstacles out on a challenging course, that's where you come in. As a 'Volunteer - Gear Bag Check', we need you to keep a watchful eye over the Mud Hero's belongings while they're out on course. You will temporarily exchange the runner's 'gear bag' for a ticket given to the runner, and once the runner has finished the course, the ticket is exchanged for return of the runner's gear bag. This job will take up most of the day, but the organizers will definitely make sure you get a break! Please note that proceeds from this bag check go directly to Special Olympics Ontario, so the organizers and particularly Caledon Special Olympics will assist you in soliciting donations. ● Prior event experience (walkathon/charity run) will be helpful (but not required) ● Strong oral/written communication skills ● Strong organizational skills (with attention to detail) ● Friendly, engaging with members of the public ● Familiar with, and inclined towards, soliciting the public for charitable donations (helpful, but not required) ● Ability to travel to/from the event site reliably and on time |
