About the Position
Active Adult Centre of Mississauga 377 Burnhamthorpe Road East, Suite 116, Mississauga, ON, Canada Mississauga
The AACM seeks a committed volunteer to serve on its Board, with responsibilities that will include recommending strategies, activities, and resources to expand the Centre's network of supporters and partners in line with the AACM's mission and goals, and furthermore assisting in the planning and evaluation of special events in conjunction with staff and volunteer committees.

● Make a lasting difference in the lives of local older adults by offering your talents and time to a charity striving to improve health, foster well-being, and reduce isolation by creating opportunities for seniors to remain active, independent and engaged in their community.
● Apply/enhance your leadership skills and community contacts by contributing to a highly regarded organization (add to your resume)
● Utilize your talents/experience to sustain/grow AACM's financial foundation
● Benefit from personal/professional 'networking' opportunities with AACM, its clients, volunteers, staff, and stakeholders in the community
The following qualifications are desirable:
● Established 'marketing & promotion' skills/experience, with focus on fundraising (a 'CFRE' designation is a definite asset)
● Prior leadership experience
● Prior board of directors involvement in the not-for-profit sector
● Excellent oral/written communication skills
● Knowledge about Mississauga, its community leaders and stakeholders
● Established 'network' of contacts in the Mississauga community (and beyond) that are potential sources for support/funding of AACM
● Creative, committed, purposeful, complemented by patience and a sense of humour

PLEASE NOTE: The volunteer for this position is required to serve as a member of the AACM Board of Directors until June, 2020. And because the position involves ongoing contact with Mississauga residents who are regarded as 'vulnerable', a 'Police Vulnerable Sector Check' is required (will be arranged with AACM as part of a successful screening process).
