About the Position
Volunteer MBC Volunteer MBC, 601-7700 Hurontario Street, Brampton, ON, Canada Mississauga, Brampton, Caledon, Virtual
● Research funding opportunities and donor catchment (online and through other avenues of inquiry)
● Acquire/utilize detailed knowledge of Volunteer MBC's mission and programs (including its 'Learning Centre')
● Attend regular Fund Development and Events Committee meetings
● Evaluate research and provide recommendations re. various funding vehicles (eg. individual donors, businesses with CSR matching programs, Foundations that support the volunteering sector, Internet platforms/donation services), and with respect to specific, potential opportunities
● Provide recommendations about specific sources and how effective solicitation should be undertaken
● Conduct research as assigned by the Volunteer MBC Fund Development Committee and staff
● Provide updates to the Committee (and as it directs) on a regular basis
● Record findings/recommendations/performance in Volunteer MBC's internal grant management system, as requested

> Hours confirmation letter and/or 'Achieve Certificate' upon successful completion of volunteer engagement
● Familiar with Volunteer MBC's vision and mission, plus its strategic priorities and goals
● Proven capacity to conduct effective, organized research online (and in the community) to determine availability of relevant grant (donor) opportunities
● Ability to evaluate research and provide recommendations as part of fundraising action plans
● Fundraising experience is a DEFINITE ASSET
● Excellent oral/written English
● Excellent organization, attention to detail, plus adherence to strict deadlines
● Capacity/commitment to volunteer and collaborate as part of a team
● Commitment to confidentiality and absolute discretion re. fundraising activities
● Creative, thinking 'outside the box', forward thinking (trends)
Orientation to Volunteer MBC that relates to the 'position' will be provided.
Ongoing support in the course of collaboration.
