About the Position

The role of 'Program Assistant - Dazzling Seniors' principally involves:

● Assisting the project coordinator with filling the forms
● Translating from English to Hindi or Punjabi
● Preparing the refreshments and light clean up
● Participating in activity session as needed
● Provides administrative support to coordinator, including maintaining the filing system, and tracking client participation

> If you are new to Canada, volunteering will help you gain Canadian work experience
> Opportunity to learn/enhance 'customer service', 'office admin', 'program delivery', 'seniors' assist' skills/experience (add to your resume)
> You may include yourself in, and benefit from, the many training programs offered at MIAG
> Meet new people and build your professional or social network
> Secondary school students may earn hours towards their '40 hour' community service graduation requirement
● Minimum age - 16
● Length of volunteer engagement requested - 6 months
● Oral communication skills in Hindi or Punjabi
● Organized, with ability to multi-task
● Friendly, engaging, empathetic, and happy to volunteer to assist seniors
● Appreciation for clients from diverse cultural backgrounds
Volunteer will be advised of Orientation training session dates.
