About the Position
The Story Garden Sheridan Centre, Erin Mills Parkway, Mississauga, ON, Canada Mississauga, Brampton
The 'Grandpals Project' needs seniors to volunteer in the following ways:

I. Story Circles (Tuesday (weekly) from 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm)
- Seniors will share stories/experiences with children based on a theme (or object) suggested by the session facilitator
- Seniors also will have the opportunity to lead 'story circle' sessions
II. Story Keepers (Wednesday (weekly) from 1 - 4 pm)
- Seniors will document/share their stories/experiences through scrapbooking
III. 'Bridging the Gap' (Tuesday (weekly) from 3 - 5 pm)
- Seniors will reciprocate with teens (who will acquaint seniors with 'social media') by sharing 'pre-technology' games/crafts that remembers the 'old ways' and shows that they're still fun!

The Project seeks seniors to volunteer in a variety of roles. For example:
> 'Recruiters' (who will reach into the seniors' communities (associations, residences, etc.) to inform, invite, and secure participation by seniors)
> 'Activity Coordinators' (who will organize seniors and their transport to/from their residences)
> Seniors to help with language interpretation, if needed (in keeping with 'diversity and inclusiveness')
> Seniors to help market the weekly sessions ('get the word out')
> Seniors to monitor/assist in delivery of the weekly sessions

There are 'leadership roles' available (see separate 'posting' - 'Volunteer Lead - Grandpals Project')
