About the Position
The Story Garden Sheridan Centre, 2225 Erin Mills Parkway, Mississauga, ON, Canada Mississauga, Brampton
'Bridging the Gap' (Tuesday (weekly) from 3 - 5 pm)
- Seniors will reciprocate with teens (who will acquaint seniors with 'social media' and other aspects of 21st century technology, including 'ipads') by seniors sharing 'pre-technology' games/crafts that remembers the 'old ways' and shows that they're still fun!

The program is designed to be a healthy, productive, and engaging 'bridge' between older adults and youth, with benefits for both generations!

PLEASE APPLY IMMEDIATELY, given that the Grandpals Project is already active, with 'Bridging the Gap' in need of teen volunteers.
+ Great opportunity to join with, and learn from, older adults, plus educate them in modern communication 'tech' and trends

+ Add to your knowledge of your local community (especially its 'diversity and inclusiveness')
+ Secondary school students may earn hours towards their '40 hours' community service graduation requirement
+ Personal satisfaction that your volunteerism will have contributed towards the success of the 'Grandpals Project', particularly 'Bridging the Gap', an important outreach between
seniors and teens
● Minimum age - 13
● Solid oral/written English communication skills
● Fluency in another language welcome
● Familiar with, and confident in explaining, 'social media', and use of 'ipads' and related devices (PCs, laptops, tablets, etc.)
● Receptive to seniors' explanations/demonstrations of 'pre-technology'
● Friendly, engaging, and keen to accomplish the program goals
● Organized, committed to abide by session schedule(s)
● Comfortable in volunteering as part of a team, and one-on-one with seniors
'Bridging the Gap' orientation/training will be arranged, having regard to your specific role.
