About the Position
Ecosource St Hilary Elementary School, 5070, Fairwind Drive, Mississauga, ON, Canada Mississauga, Brampton, Caledon
> 'Youth in Action - Credit to New Credit' program brings together Indigenous and non-Indigenous youth (15-30 years old) for a workshop series on topics related to leadership, stewardship and relationship.
> Over a period of seven months (120 hourrs), participants will attend 10 workshops and be supported to design and lead environmental service projects that will have a positive impact in their communities.

+ Promote civic engagement among Canadian youth through committed environmental and sustainability services opportunities
+ Enhance YOUR READINESS for leadership roles and community participation
+ Help youth develop valuable skills that will benefit them in life and work
+ Foster greater cultural understanding between Indigenous and non-Indigenous youth in a climate of diversity of inclusiveness, with personal and environmental impact
+ Increase YOUR understanding of environmental stewardship and Indigenous history, cultural practices, and teachings
+ Students in secondary school may earn hours towards their '40 hours' community servce graduation requirement
● AGE RANGE - 15 to 30 years old
● Participants must be committed to attending 10 workshops (approximately 4 hours each)
● Participants must be committed to dedicating a minimum of 80 hours of service to a community project
● Participants must be a Canadian Citizens, permanent residents, or a person who has been granted refugee status
● Participants (or their parents/guardians, if applicable) will be asked to sign an agreement upon acceptance to the 'Youth in Action - Credit to New Credit' program
