About the Position
WellFort Community Health Services Bramalea Community Health Centre, Finchgate Boulevard, Brampton, ON, Canada Mississauga, Brampton, Caledon
Membership on WellFort's Board of Directors entails an investment of time and energy, in a leadership role, that relates to:
- Overall governance of WellFort, its vision, mission, and directions
- Implementation (and periodic review) of our Strategic Plan
- Oversight to ensure that financial and legal obligations are being met
- Specific committee work/projects (in certain 'professional areas')
- Participation in community promotion/fundraising
- Other contributions as the WellFort may need, and as the Board agrees upon

● Minimum age - 25
● Length of volunteer engagement (Board membership) - ONE YEAR term, although the successful applicant may be asked to fill a vacancy
● Commitment and ability to participate in and adhere to WellFort's Values
● Willingness to be educated on issues relevant to the needs of WellFort clients and the communities we serve
● Represent and/or have knowledge of our priority populations including but not limited to: youth, newcomers to Canada, racialized populations and seniors, 2SLGBTQ+ communities, low income families, individuals experiencing homelessness, mental health challenges and people who use drugs
● Prepared to advocate on behalf of populations facing barriers accessing health care and social service supports
● Certain skills/expertise particularly welcome:
- clinical practices
- legal issues / not-for-profit governance
- business analysis (strategic planning, risk assessment/management)
- human resources
- community outreach/development
● Experience in a leadership role in the volunteering sector welcome
● Organized, committed to respect schedules and adhere to deadlines for tasks/projects
● You clearly demonstrate proactive and strategic thinking
● Ready to promote WellFort within the community (incl. where you have a presence)

Information about the Board will be provided in the course of 'screening', and more detailed orientation will be addressed to successful applicants.
