> This position will act as a support for field-to-table programming at our Local Food Hub, which includes a Demonstration Garden and a Teaching Kitchen > Throughout the summer we will be running a 'Field & Fork' Kitchen Program that will consist of cooking local and seasonal food with community members > To support this program, volunteers will assist in setting up the kitchen or garden space for the workshop, assisting participants with cooking skills, facilitating group in the kitchen or garden, and cleaning up following events PLEASE APPLY for this SEASONAL, SUMMER volunteering opportunity as soon as possible (Orientation is scheduled for June 24, 2019). |

| This position will allow participants to gain skills and knowledge in gardening and cooking, as well as allow them to explore concepts surrounding local food systems, sustainability, seasonal eating, and food preservation. The participants will be able to interact with the community and foster greater environmental awareness and engagement in Mississauga. | |

For this 'position', the candidate should: - be at least 16 years old - be interested in environmental issues - have basic knowledge of kitchen procedures, seasonal cooking - have a working gardening knowledge - have the ability to facilitate groups - have willingness and commitment to work with people from a variety of backgrounds |
